Mechanics (compressors)
The compressor is the
heart of the air conditioner and because of its importance, is produced
by Daikin "in house" in order to ensure that it meets Daikin
quality demands. All compressors within Daikin equipment therefore, are
designed and tested in the company's own research and development laboratories.
Daikin
compressors fall in three basic categories :
- Scroll compressor
with very few moving parts and correspondingly high reliability
- Swing compressor designed specially for use with environmentally friendly
refrigerants in residential applications
- Single screw compressor for air and water cooled chiller. This compressor
can operate for 40,000 hours continuous running before requiring an overhaul.
Electronics
If the compressor represents
the heart of the system, the electronics are surely the brain. Electronic
expansion valves monitor and regulate compressor capacity by varying the
frequency of the power supply. This ensures the provision of a balanced
and pleasant indoor environment without large scale fluctuations in room
temperature.
Chemicals
Daikin
is the only air conditioning manufacturer in the world to produce refrigerant
chemicals. Daikin is the second among refrigerant producers. The company

alternative refrigerants and apply them to both new and existing equipment.
